In 2025, the gross output produced by farmers in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 459.7 billion soms. This is 2.2 percent higher than in 2024, according to information from the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, citing data from the National Statistical Committee.

The main contribution to the positive changes came from livestock, which increased by 4 percent, while crop production showed only a slight growth of 0.2 percent.

Achievements in Livestock

The volume of livestock and poultry production for slaughter increased by 3.6 percent, milk production by 3.2 percent, and wool production by 1.4 percent. The most significant growth was observed in egg production, which increased by 18.7 percent.

In natural terms, the results are as follows:

Problems in Crop Production and Climate Challenges

The total area of sown crops in 2025 amounted to 1 million 245.6 thousand hectares, which is 0.1 percent less compared to the previous year.
The sector faced serious challenges: dry spring and summer months, as well as a lack of irrigation water, led to a decrease in grain yields.
As a result, farmers harvested 1 million 800 thousand tons of grain, which is 14.2 percent lower than in 2024. The most affected regions were Chui, Talas, and Batken.

The harvest of major crops also decreased:
However, the increase in corn (by 5.1 percent), rice (by 17 percent), and vegetables (by 11.3 percent) helped maintain the overall gross harvest of crop production at 100.2 percent.

Cooperation Development and State Support

Last year, there was active cooperation among farmers: the number of cooperatives increased from 753 to 821, and the area of land they cultivated reached 55 thousand 454 hectares.

State investments in the agricultural sector amounted to over 11 billion soms, and the funds were allocated to key projects under preferential lending:
Agriculture accounted for 8 percent of the structure of the country's gross domestic product.
