The deputy asks the cabinet to help farmers affected by the natural disaster in the Talas region.
Losses from mudflows amounted to over 55 million soms, yet no assistance was provided.
At a recent meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Dastan Jumabekov urged the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev to pay attention to the situation of farmers in the Aitmatov region of the Talas province, who suffered from a recent natural disaster.
According to the deputy, on July 28, 2025, mudflows occurred in the Sheker rural administration, causing damage to crops in the villages of Sheker, Kok-Sai, Kainar, and Archagul. As a result, over 700 hectares of agricultural land, where beans and wheat were grown, were washed away.
After the emergency situation, the civil protection commission prepared a report estimating the damage at 55 million soms, and the situation was recognized as a natural disaster. However, as noted by Jumabekov, no appropriate measures were taken, and farmers remain without support.
The deputy also emphasized that many of the affected individuals lease land from the state fund on a competitive basis and continue to pay high rent despite the complete lack of harvest. The residents of the rural administration are confused and do not know how to cope with the current difficulties, awaiting assistance from the government.
