Overdue Loans in Kyrgyzstan Remain at a Low Level, Banks are Actively Lending to the Population
According to data from the Ministry of Economy, there is an increase in consumer lending and a decrease in the level of overdue loans.
As of June 30, 2025, the total volume of loans issued by banks in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 416 billion 900 million soms, with the largest increase observed in the consumer loan sector — a growth of 37.9 percent.
The level of overdue loans remains low — only 1.7 percent, which amounts to 7 billion 200 million soms. At the same time, overdue Islamic financing has decreased to 2.6 percent, or 400 million soms.
The National Bank reported a growth in bank assets of 24.1 percent, totaling 1 trillion 12 billion soms. The net profit of the banking services sector reached 14 billion 770 million soms.
The increase in lending has a positive effect on the development of small and medium-sized businesses, which contribute 37 percent to the country's gross domestic product.
