In Bishkek, 28,000 smart meters were installed starting from the beginning of 2025.

As part of the reform and digitalization of the energy system, the Bishkek Electric Networks Enterprise, a branch of JSC "NESC," continues to implement automated systems for commercial accounting of electric energy (ASCUE). The information is provided by the press service of the Bishkek Electric Networks.

Since the beginning of 2025, 28,000 smart meters have been installed in various districts of the capital:

Lenin District - 9,140;
Sverdlov District - 4,659;
First May District - 11,742;
October District - 2,374.

The agency highlights several advantages of smart meters:

they provide automatic data transmission to the server in real time;
they disconnect power supply when the established capacity is exceeded;
in case of debt, they disconnect electricity with subsequent restoration after payment;
they inform about attempts of unauthorized interference;
they improve the quality of electricity;
they reduce the risks of electricity theft and minimize the human factor, eliminating contact between the controller and the consumer;
they protect electrical equipment from overloads.
