The GDP of Kyrgyzstan exceeded 1.9 trillion soms in 2025 and grew by 11.1%

- In 2025, the gross domestic product of Kyrgyzstan reached over 1.9 trillion soms [approximately $23 billion - ed.], which corresponds to an 11.1% increase compared to the previous year. This was announced on January 19 at a press conference by the chairman of the National Statistical Committee, Baktybek Kudaybergenov.

As noted by Kudaybergenov, the main factors for growth were the increase in the service sector, commodity production, and net taxes on products.

The volume of industrial production in 2025 amounted to 799.7 billion soms, which is 10.6% more compared to 2024. This growth was made possible by an increase in the production of pharmaceutical products, rubber and plastics, construction materials, as well as paper and wood products, printing products, food items, and tobacco, along with an increase in mineral extraction.

The gross agricultural output for 2025 reached 459.7 billion soms, representing a 2.2% increase compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, the volume of livestock production increased by 4%.

As for the construction sector, the gross output from January to December 2025 amounted to 438.5 billion soms, which is 21.1% more than in the same period of 2024. An increase in construction volumes was observed in most regions of the country, except for the Batken, Naryn, and Osh regions.

The volume of wholesale and retail trade turnover amounted to 2.2 trillion soms, which is 17.8% more than in the previous year.
