The loan portfolio of banks in Kyrgyzstan has increased by one and a half times

According to the latest data, from January to September of this year, there has been a significant increase in lending volumes in Kyrgyzstan, especially in the segments of consumer loans, mortgage programs, and trade.

As of October 1 of this year, the loan portfolio of the banking sector reached 461.1 billion soms, which is 160.3 billion soms or 1.5 times more than in the same period last year, according to the National Statistical Committee report.

Of the total loan volume, 379.1 billion soms, or 82.2% of the portfolio, were issued in the national currency.

The structure of lending is as follows:

Consumer loans amount to 165.1 billion soms (35.8%);

Loans for trade activities — 109.4 billion soms (23.7%);

Mortgage lending — 50.7 billion soms (11%);

Agriculture — 49.7 billion soms (10.8%).

Long-term loans account for 87.4% of the total portfolio, while short-term loans make up only 12.6%.

The largest share of loans was issued in Bishkek — 52% of the total volume, followed by the Jalal-Abad region with 10.1%.

The increase in lending activity indicates the stability of the country's financial sector and the growing demand for borrowed funds among the population and businesses.
