The launch of the project "Five Million Artificial Intelligence Leaders" will take place in 2026 and will last until 2035. Each academic year, a competition will be held to reward the best participants, as well as schools and teachers, with cash prizes of $1000, laptops, and electric cars.

The procedure for implementing this project was established by a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, signed on December 31.

This project is the result of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates and was presented in December. The opening ceremony was attended by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and UAE Government Minister Muhammad bin Abdullah al-Gergawi.

The project will continue the initiative "One Million Programmers." In 2026, it is planned to train 500,000 people, and by 2035, the total number of trained specialists will reach 5 million.

Every year, as part of the project, a national competition will be held for participants demonstrating outstanding results:

100 teachers will be awarded cash prizes of $1000;

10 teachers will receive opportunities for overseas tourist trips;

500 students will receive laptops;

500 young people will receive valuable gifts;

3 higher education institutions will be recognized with cash awards;

2 schools will receive a "presidential gift" in the form of an electric car.

To ensure the successful implementation of the project, a special commission has been created to monitor the adherence to regional goals, control the progress of the initiative, establish the evaluation process for participants, and make decisions regarding awards.

The commission consists of seven members led by the Minister of Digital Technologies, as well as deputy ministers of preschool and school education, higher education, science and innovation, the chairman of the IT Education Association, and the director of the Center for the Development of Digital Educational Technologies.

The project "Heirs of Muhammad al-Khwarizmi" will also be implemented in Karakalpakstan and regional centers. It includes:

free training in modern professions (such as project manager in IT and startup project manager) and foreign languages;

free courses for obtaining international professional IT certificates;

participation in competitions in computer science, robotics, esports, and other disciplines.
