From February 27 to 28 and on March 1, the long-awaited premiere of the one-man show "Medea" will take place at the A. Umuraliev Bishkek City Drama Theater. According to the theater's press service, this work, based on a play by Nina Mazur, represents a deep confession of a woman driven to extremes by love, betrayal, and loneliness.
“In the performance by the outstanding actress, Honored Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic Dinara Abdykadyrova, this ancient story acquires a sharp and contemporary resonance, touching on themes of pain, vulnerability, and the destructive power of passion. Her interpretation of Medea is a woman who loved to the end and ultimately lost everything,” the theater noted.
Audiences will witness her transformation from tenderness to rage, from hope to disappointment, from faith to the abyss. This is not just a tale of revenge, but a portrait of a soul that no longer wishes to be submissive and convenient,” the theater added.
The director is Alexander Panin, and the set designer is Zuhra Mukambetova.
