On his Facebook page, political scientist Emil Dzhuraev commented on the recent resignation, as well as the possible scenarios and risks associated with the dissolution of the alliance between two key figures of power.
According to the political scientist, Tashiev's resignation was predictable and had been brewing for a long time. With the elections approaching, the issue of the disputed election dates in accordance with the Constitution became an additional factor accelerating this decision. In any case, this situation was inevitable. No matter how strong the friendship between the two political figures, such alliances, especially at a high level, have their time limits, and they are usually short-lived. A tandem that lasted more than five years can be considered quite rare and solid,” Dzhuraev noted.
He also emphasized that future events remain unpredictable, and there is a risk of deterioration in personal relations between the former allies.
“Unfortunately, there is a high probability that their friendship will change. However, this is part of the harsh political reality, and there is no tragedy in this. It is important for both sides to responsibly and with an understanding of all risks constructively navigate through this stage,” the expert added.
Dzhuraev highlighted that it was the cooperation between the two leaders that formed the basis for significant systemic achievements in recent years.
“The most serious systemic results were achieved during their joint rule, thanks to their alliance. At the same time, the shortcomings were undoubtedly also a consequence of this power formula,” he believes.
Nevertheless, the political scientist warned against excessive criticism and retrospective assessments at this moment.
“There have been enough mistakes and controversial moments. However, in the current conditions, raising these issues would be unconstructive. The most dangerous thing is to allow external forces, which pursue their own interests, to interfere in the situation,” he concluded, emphasizing that the emerging problems should be resolved within the country.
In conclusion, Dzhuraev added that the changes currently taking place will also affect the deputies.
“It will now be more difficult for deputies — they will no longer be able to occupy an unstable and uncertain position,” he noted.
