All reclamation works at uranium sites in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan under the CIS intergovernmental program have been completed

- On February 18, 2026, another meeting of the Commission on Economic Issues under the Economic Council of the CIS took place in Moscow.

During the meeting, various aspects of economic interaction among the CIS member states were discussed, including the results of the implementation of the Intergovernmental Target Program "Reclamation of Territories of States Affected by Uranium Mining Activities".

Representatives of the CIS Executive Committee noted: "All planned reclamation works at sites in the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan have been completed, the established goals of the program have been achieved, the risk to public health and the environment in these regions has been eliminated, and the radiation level has been reduced to acceptable norms."

It is expected that the report will be presented for discussion at the meeting of the Economic Council and the Council of Heads of Governments of the CIS.

In Kyrgyzstan, reclamation and relocation of uranium tailings were carried out in areas such as: Mиң-Куш, Каджи-Сай, Туюк-Суу, Талды-Булак, Дальнее.
